As I approach the third birthday of Thrifting Monarch, I have started to think about the direction I would like to steer. I have found that my love falls in the curation process. The art of finding a piece at the thrift, then showcasing it in the way it deserves for it to find its new home, is what I enjoy.
I have been taking extra time to look the garments over to make sure there are not any markings from its previous life, and not buying something just because of the brand listed on the label. Checking the fabric contents, and favoring natural fibers.
This new approach has me leaving the thrift empty-handed on some occasions, but what I do bring home is a true treasure eager for its second chance at life.
That is where this journal comes in. Sometimes I spend a few weeks, maybe months curating a collection because it feels like telling a story. The story of the former and (hopefully) new lives these garments will live, and the inspiration they provided me along the way.
Iām excited to share my curated secondhand finds with you, sourced with intention, quality, and timelessness in mind.
